Broad Peak: Kritiken

My comment will contain many spoilers - please beware. I don't understand the purpose of this movie. Berbeka reaching the Rocky Summit, not the actual peak, is a tragedy, but it is not the most heartbreaking part of this story. Before diving into the most important aspect of it - his death - the movie just ends. I was hoping to learn about the details of this tragic expedition, which ends with the death of two climbers (out of four) and its aftermath, which divided the polish mountain climbing community. It would be interesting to get to know both sides of the discussion which followed and learn about Bieleckis point of view, who was under a lot of scrutiny from some of his colleagues. This story has potential to further explore the moral aspects of mountain climbing - which already play a huge role in the first part of the movie - not only the adventure and risk taking. The ending is lazy. I do not recommend watching this movie.
